K-1 Introduction to Stage Students rehearsed and performed the musical, How Does Your Garden Grow by John Jacobs and John Higgins. Students learned how to be a team, and how hard work in rehearsals pay off in the way you feel onstage. Students were very proud of themselves!
2-3 Puppetry Students learned about the art of making in inanimate object come to life in their hands. They made sock puppet characters for a play called The Dragon by Joy Hawley. Two different performance teams will entertain kindergarteners on this last week of school. They are excited!
4-5 Storytelling Students created their own version of The Tortoise and the Hare and have been working on making their stories clear and engaging through rehearsal and feedback. On this last week of school, they will entertain students in various classrooms. As they have come to learn, the audience they tell for helps to shape the story. They have grown in their abilities and confidence, and I can't wait to see what happens in the rooms!
